Broadband Task Force

The Broadband Task Force will work to implement broadband in the region to facilitate growth and the flow of information, health care and other benefits to the region through electronic and wireless information transfer.


Continuing Education Task Force

The Continuing Education Task Force will work to implement and secure proper educational opportunities and programs that help expand development in the region and enhance the workforce.


Health and Public Safety Task Force

The Health and Public Safety Task Force will focus on topics such as health care delivery, Public Works, Fire and EMS. The committee will also explore how the availability of infrastructure such as water and sewer can be used as an economic development tool for municipalities in the region.

Planning and Infrastructure Task Force

The Planning and Infrastructure Task Force will address items such as transportation and other infrastructure necessary to accommodate growth and to promote economic development. All Task Forces will choose its own set of priorities.


Agriculture Task Force

The Agriculture Task Force will seek ways to expand, modify and improve farming as a staple industry within the region.

Welcome to the Southern Shores of Lake Okeechobee

The LORI tourism and marketing committee was established to build a brand and marketing plan to promote the southern shores of Lake Okeechobee. The three counties are Glades, Hendry and western Palm Beach counties including the cities of Moore Haven, Clewiston, South Bay, Belle Glade and Pahokee.
