Welcome to Collins Central, your go-to source for the latest news and information about the Collins Center for Public Policy and its programs, people and projects. I intend to use this blog to help highlight and explain what's going on at Collins. We're a far-flung outfit, with programs and offices from Pensacola to Miami, and many stops in between. We run a diverse portfolio of programs, from home foreclosure mediation to regional visioning to justice reform to sustainability.

We call our outfit a "think tank with muddy boots.” Why? Because while we carry out traditional think-tanky work, such as research and reports, we also perform work based on that research while delivering a product or service from our effort; all with the goal of helping Florida solve its toughest problems.

We are independent, non-partisan, nonprofit and passionately committed to finding lasting solutions.

And we try to live up to the legacy of our namesake, former Governor LeRoy Collins, considered by many to be one of Florida's pre-eminent statesmen.
